Watch DVD images on the Apple TV
As I discussed with the iOS versions, Infuse and Infuse Pro by Firecore are capable of playing DVD images directly on the iPhone and iPad. Firecore also makes a version of Infuse for the Apple TV (4th generation and newer) that can play DVD images also. If you buy Infuse for the iPhone or iPad, the Apple TV version is included for free. Note: you will need to rip your DVDs and put the image files on a file server.

If you have already bought Infuse on the iPhone or iPad, go to the Purchased Apps section of the App Store on the Apple TV (4th generation and up) to download it.
When starting up Infuse for the first time, you will need to choose the network drive where you save your DVD images. First choose the Settings gear at the top right of the screen and then Network Shares.
In the Shares setting, the available network drives are shown. Select the drives where the files are.
Next you can favorite the folders where the files are located.
The network locations are then added to the Infuse start screen. Infuse also puts up the videos you are currently watching. Infuse will scan the saved drive locations and add any recently added movies to the start screen.
When you select the DVD image file you want to play, Infuse creates a splash screen for it with information about the movie, if there is enough identifying information in the file title (name and year of release).
Click Play to start the DVD. Infuse will start playing the Title with the longest runtime in the DVD image. If you want to change to another Title in the DVD, swipe down on the Siri remote trackpad for the menu.
In the menu, select Video, and scroll down to Titles. Unfortunately, the DVD videos have generic titles and you have to go off of the video duration to make a guess what they could be. For DVD images of TV shows with multiple episodes, all of the episodes can be lumped together as one long video file under Titles.
For TV shows, when you click on Video > Chapters, all the episode Chapters for multiple episodes are lumped together here also. It can be a little trial and error to find the chapters where one episode ends and the next begins.
Infuse works great for playing DVD images that I can put up with the minor annoyance of generic DVD titles and the lumping together of TV videos and chapters.
